Lehman Science Lecture Table

Project Details

Location: New York, NY

Project Description:

Lehman Auditorium is one of the most important, frequently used spaces on the Barnard Campus due to its ample seating and extensive classroom technology. It is the ideal location for any large audience, but it is primarily used for Science related lectures, many of which are filmed and broadcasted live. For this space, Meridian was tasked with redesigning the center point of the auditorium – a hybrid lab/lecture table. The end product is a simple rectangular volume clad in Corian, branded with the school’s name, and topped with a slab of epoxy resin. It is equipped with power, data, projector and lighting controls, gas valves, a sink, storage, and a cut-out for a movable lecture podium.
